About

Nicola Savvides Independent Speech and Language Therapist

I have more than 19 years of experience working as a Speech and Language Therapist.  I studied a BSc degree in Speech and Language Therapy at Birmingham City University, graduating with honours.

I started my career working in the NHS in Dudley Westmidlands.  I worked with pre-school children in community clinics and nurseries and as a mainstream therapist in schools.  After this, I developed my clinical skills and worked within the pre-school special needs team and I became the link therapist within the mainstream team to develop the service and to provide support to colleagues, children, families and education staff to support those children with the more complex and additional needs.

Alongside my NHS work, I also began working in independent practice over 14 years ago,  where  I joined a growing consortium of independent therapists, providing speech and language therapy services to schools in the Birmingham area.

In addition to working within schools in the Birmingham region, I am also now based in the Warwickshire area where I offer a therapy service to individual children at home and within mainstream school settings. I have also worked closely with pupils and staff within a specialist autism school, focusing on individual communication systems, social communication and sensory regulation.
